About My Favorite Sport

My favorite sport is basketball. The first time I played basketball was in 3rd grade. I was in Canada and I played with my friends. The more I played, the more I got into it. Basketball is a sport where you have to put the basketball through a hoop. You can play defense so that other people won’t score. You can dribble to get past defenders so you can score.

Rules of Basketball

There are a lot of rules in basketball. Some are simple and some are complex. People usually just memorize the basic rules. The first rule is that you cannot take 3 or more steps while holding the ball. That is called a travel. You cannot dribble the ball with two hands or dribble, pick it up, and dribble again. That is called a double dribble. You cannot slap someone’s arms while they are shooting. That is called a shooting foul. If someone gets fouled inside the 3 point line, they will get 2 free throws. If someone gets fouled outside the 3 point line, they will get 3 free throws.

My Favorite Teams

My favorite basketball team that is in the National Basketball Association is the Golden State Warriors. My favorite college basketball team is the Baylor Bears. The reason I like the Baylor Bears is because they are underrated. Before, no one knew them, but now they are ranked number 3 for the recruiting class of 2021. They were even number 1 at some point!

My Experience

My experience with basketball started in Canada, when I was in grade 3. I started playing basketball in grade 3. In 4th grade, I got in an Amateur Athletic Union team called the Silver Knights. While I was moving schools, I also moved AAU teams to YNBA. When I came to Korea, I got in an elite program team. Now, my goal is to play for a D1 college team.

Styles

Another exciting aspect of basketball is that you can style yourself and have the most swag on the court. A style I like is that I like to roll my pants up so that the pants go on the middle of my thighs. I also like to wear a headband now that I got a new hairstyle.

My Goals

I have a lot of goals for basketball. The first goal is to touch the backboard until March, 2021. Now that I have a knee ability program, I can not be lazy and work out. The second goal is to hit 40 percent of my shots and hit 70 percent of my free throws. My goal for high school is to be on the varsity team by my sophomore year. The life goal for basketball is to play in a D1 College team.
